Maintenance Operative

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Operative to carry out general maintenance and repairs across residential developments in the South East, including London. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure our properties remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting minor electrical repairs (e.g., changing light fittings, replacing sockets)
  • Basic plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks and unblocking drains
  • General carpentry, including repairing doors, locks, and skirting boards
  • Painting and decorating communal areas as needed
  • Basic plastering and filling cracks or holes in walls
  • Carrying out general repairs and upkeep of the buildings
  • Assist with Fire Door inspections, conducting assessments and generating reports
  • Inspecting and troubleshooting maintenance issues proactively
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety guidelines


What You Need

We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining consistently high standards of work. A naturally proactive individual with a keen eye for detail, the ideal candidate will be reliable, conscientious, and always strive to exceed client expectations.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to regularly work at weekends when required
  • Professional and friendly approach at all times
  • Adherence to health and safety procedures
  • Initiative in identifying and addressing maintenance issues
  • Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks
  • Full, clean driving licence (essential for the role)

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in maintenance, handyman work, or a similar role (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
  • Driving Licence: Required

Job Location: On the road
Hours: 42.5 hours per week, worked across five days within a seven-day period. 
Annual leave: 20 days plus bank holidays
