Service Charge Accountant
As we continue to grow, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Charge Accountant to join our busy team.

The Job
Your role will include:
- Preparing Service Charge budgets and actively working alongside the Property Management Department to ensure that these are realistic, effective, and distributed in a timely manner to achieve KPI targets.
- Inputting budgets onto the database ensuring charges are applied correctly and apportionment's agree.
- Assisting Property Managers with account queries and budget preparation.
- Preparing the weekly budget report for distribution to DOO and GFC
- Preparing the monthly periodics report for the Corporate Department.
- Budget and variance reporting
- Raising periodic Service Charge demands and recharges as required.
- Assisting with ad-hoc projects as required.
- Preparing Service Charge accounts for the managed property portfolio to include:
- Analysis of income and expenditure
- Accruals and prepayments where necessary
- Review and analysis of the Service Charge budget to actual expenditure and prior year performance.
- Liaising with the Property Managers and external accountants to ensure accounts are complete, queries resolved and issued in a timely manner to achieve Corporate KPI targets.
The ideal candidate:
- Will preferably have Service Charge experience
- Has sound commercial understanding
- Possesses excellent communication skills
- Has exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Can demonstrate meticulous attention to detail
- Has proven organisational skills
What You Need
- Applicants must be either ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
Job location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Hours: 37.5 hours per week shift pattern covering Monday to Saturday
Salary: Salary dependant on experience
Annual leave: 23 days plus bank holidays
