Cheers and celebrations: Marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Over 180 garden parties have been held at Buckingham Palace during the Queen’s reign, attended by over 1.5 million people. The Platinum Jubilee was high time for us all to throw a party for Her Majesty.

That was certainly the case for a retirement community under our care in West Yorkshire. As you can see here, a fine day was had by the residents! Gateway supported a special celebratory raffle by donating a luxury hamper. It had to be from Fortnum & Mason, with the purveyor holding two Royal Warrants! More than £300 was raised for good causes, so a round of applause to our wonderful residents!

Did you know…?

As Monarch, the Queen has visited 100 countries, carried out more than 21,000 engagements, given Royal Assent to some 4,000 Acts of Parliament, hosted 112 State Visits, supported 500 organisations as Patron and sent over 300,000 congratulatory cards to people celebrating their 100th birthdays.
