The face of figures: Natasha Worland, AAT, Accounts

Industry accredited Natasha (AAT) knows our property businesses inside out. Over eleven years at Gateway, she has seen the Group expand rapidly and her role evolve. Today, she acts as Accounts Supervisor, overseeing daily transactions across our departments and companies with a close team of colleagues. As Gateway Property Management’s portfolio increases, Natasha also supports with property integrations and is regarded as the go-to person for all matters financial.

There isn’t a typical day for Natasha, and it’s the variety of her role as Accounts Supervisor that she enjoys. “I can be supporting the property management team with a new block and then processing records or overseeing new purchases,” says Natasha. “Time flies and, when you look back at the week, there’s always a rewarding feeling that you’ve helped the business operate well and supported a range of colleagues.”

Natasha joined Gateway over a decade ago, from an accounts’ role in the city in Financial Services. “I started out at Gateway as an Accounts Assistant, reconciling bank transactions,” explains Natasha. “My role has progressed over time, including being Financial Controller. Following maternity leave, I was able to come back to Gateway in a new part-time role. That job security has been great and the positon has worked out really well.”

Besides the diversity of work, Natasha enjoys the unique atmosphere at Gateway. “While the company has grown significantly over the years, it has still maintained a family business feel. I work with amazing people and I’m always learning on the job from some very experienced colleagues around me and by attending seminars and training courses, especially on new accountancy software developments. The property industry is also constantly changing and there are all sorts of financial aspects to understand on the leasehold and freehold side.” In a core corporate function, Natasha gets to see the business changes firsthand and play a key supporting role.

A go-to expert, well-respected colleague and proud mum, Natasha doesn’t get a lot of spare time. “Family life keeps me busy outside of work. When I do get some ‘me time’, I hit the gym.”

What next? Natasha looks forward to continuing to learn on the job. And to receiving her next Gateway medal and award for long service in another 10 years’ time.
