Gateway at ExCeL, London: Pleased to be back at the Property Investor Show

This October, Gateway joined exhibitors at the UK’s leading event for property investors. It was great to meet with property people face-to-face after the long lockdown and introduce Quality Street – Your Estate Agent, Solicitor and Mortgage Advisor. All together.

The UK’s largest and longest-running exhibition of UK and international property is open to anyone looking to invest in property, from new market entrants to seasoned professionals with portfolios. Over two days (15–16 October), our team met and talked with home buyers, landlords, developers and investors, and networked with other residential property professionals.

The show was a welcome opportunity to showcase all that we do at Gateway. Under one roof, we offer a wide range of assistance on property matters, including property management, leasehold/freehold advice, lease extensions, legal advice and solicitors enquiries, surveying, project management, bespoke property insurance, energy brokerage, estate agency, lettings, conveyancing and financial services.

Entry is free to the show and its seminars, with the next event set for April 2022. We’d recommend attending if you’re interested in property investment. Given the predicted property price growth reported above for 2022 and beyond, this will be a good place to be.

Decarbonising our homes

Cutting emissions is on everyone’s agenda, especially with the UN Climate Change Conference starting on 31st October in Glasgow. What can be done domestically to make a difference?

If we are to get to ‘net zero’ greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, every area of our lives will need to change, including our homes, and starting as soon as possible. The National Housing Federation points out that homes in England produce more carbon emissions than all the cars in the country, and about 20% of all UK emissions. Two areas for improvement identified by the Federation are residential property’s gas central heating systems and insulation. The use of smart technologies has also been highlighted as a way forward.

This year alone, the UK government is investing £1.3 billion to support people in making their homes more energy efficient. But, at the end of the summer, the government’s plans to reduce emissions produced by our homes were labelled as too confusing and complicated by a coalition of consumer and industry groups.

A flowing portfolio of property: New developments near the water just added.

In East Yorkshire and Somerset, Gateway Property Management is delighted to be taking care of a total of 400 newly built homes in picturesque settings.

Our Leeds Office has recently been appointed to look after a development under construction in Pocklington. This attractive market town, located by the glorious Yorkshire Wolds, is known for its 200-year old canal stretching nearly 10 miles and nine locks. The town boasts a famous former pupil. William Wilberforce, the slave law reformer, attended Pocklington Grammar School in the 18th century.

Some 250 miles south, we will also be managing agents for over 200 homes in England’s smallest city: Wells, Somerset. The medieval city, nestling in the Mendip Hills just north of the River Brue, is steeped in history. The name of the place derives from the numerous springs that rise near the cathedral.

As trusted managing agents, our nationwide portfolio continues to expand, from towns and cities to the countryside and coastline. Check out the latest additions, and more about our Group, on Instagram.
