The UK housing market has faced ongoing disruption over the past four years, and 2026 has continued that trend despite hopes for a calmer period.

As noted by Savills and echoed across the industry, earlier expectations of easing inflation and falling mortgage rates have been challenged by renewed global uncertainty, particularly tensions in the Middle East, which risk keeping inflation higher for longer.

We are proud to announce that Gateway Group has acquired the former Rochford District Council offices on South Street, Rochford, in a significant investment that will see the prominent town centre building transformed into the company’s new UK head office.

The move marks a major milestone in Gateway Group’s growth, consolidating its operations into a centralised headquarters and reinforcing its long-term commitment to Essex.

The South Street building, a well-known civic landmark, will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment to create a modern, high-quality office environment. Once complete, the new headquarters will accommodate Gateway Group’s expanding team and serve as the operational hub for the business.

The relocation will bring increased footfall to Rochford Town Centre and support the local economy.

The site is located within walking distance of Rochford Station, offering direct links into London, and is surrounded by local amenities, making it an ideal base for the company’s next phase of expansion.
